(Alicante) sus Fiestas Patronales en honor de la Virgen de
Monserrate.

21,00 h. Comienzo del Solemne Novenario en honor a Nuestra
Patrona, la Santísima Virgen de Monserrate (Día Primero).

Sábado, 30 de agosto.
9,00 h. Saldrá el PASACALLES DE LA CAÑA recorriendo las
calles, caminos y veredas de nuestro municipio, al son de la
dulzaina y el tamboril y, nuestros mozos, ataviados con el
traje típico huertano y las cañas sobre los hombros para
portar los donativos, revivirán esta tradición centenaria.
18,30 h. Hará entrada en el casco antiguo de nuestro pueblo, la
comitiva del PASACALLES DE LA CAÑA para mostrarnos a todos los
donativos conseguidos y contagiarnos de su espíritu festivo. |

Maestra Nacional, que ejerció en la Escuela Pública “José María
Paternina” de Daya Vieja desde el año 1968 hasta 1975, que junto con
el Sr. Alcalde, darán por inauguradas las Fiestas Patronales 2008.
Este acto tendrá lugar en la Plaza del Léon.

de Daya Vieja en el día de su fiesta, presidida por nuestro
Cura-Párroco, el Rvdo. Sr. D. José Manuel Menárguez Rocamora y
cantada por la Coral “Virgen del Remedio” de San Fulgencio.
13,00 h. Volteo de campanas y disparos de cohetes.
13,30 h. Recepción en las Dependencias Municipales de las
Autoridades Civiles y Religiosas, miembros de la Coral y Comisión de
Fiestas donde se servirá un vino de honor.
18,00 h. Tradicional partido Casados-Solteros.
20,30 h. Pasacalles a cargo de la Unión Musical de San Fulgencio que
recorrerá nuestro municipio al son de alegres pasodobles.
21,00 h. SOLEMNE PROCESIÓN de Nuestra Excelsa Patrona, la Santísima
Virgen de Monserrate, que será presidida por nuestro Cura-Párroco,
Autoridades Municipales, los Sres. Barones de la Daya -D. Carlos
Dolz y Dña. Ana Cardenal-, pueblo en general y visitantes devotos.

los fieles difuntos de Daya Vieja.

Saturday, 30th August.
9,00 h. Starting in the Plaza del León the traditional “PASACALLES
DE LA CAÑA” will cover the streets, roads and paths of our
municipality accompanied by the sound of the “dulzaina” and small
drum. Our young boys will be dressed up with the typical custom
carrying sticks on the shoulders to carry donations. Everything will
relive the centenary tradition.
18,30 h. “PASACALLES DE LA CAÑA” will enter into the urban area in
order to show us the donations received and to transmit the festive
spirit.
21,00 h. Novena in honour to Ntra. Sra. De Monserrate ( The second
day) in the church.
21, 15 h. The switching on of the fiesta lights.
21,30 h. The Musical union parade of San Fulgencio will pick up the
“pregonera” 2008, for the municipality authorities and the invited
ones.
22,00 h. OPENING SPEECH by Dña Dolores López Velázquez, National
teacher, who practiced in the state school “José María Peternina” in
Daya Vieja from 1968 until 1975. Dolores together with the Major
will inaugurate the patron saint’s festivity of 2008. Which will
take place in the Plaza del León.
24,00 h. GREAT SPECTACLE OF BOLEROS (Typical latin music) with the
showman of OCHÉ CORTÉS, the national presenter of the programs of
the COPE: “Estamos en el aire” and “Noché Cortés” of the autonomous
Murcia TV.
SUNDAY, 31TH AUGUST
10,00 h. Holy mass. At the end of the mass, we will have the
“Novena” to Ntra. Sra. de Monserrate (third day).
10,45 h. Continuing the tradition, there will take place the
“DESFILE DE CABEZUDOS” which will evoke good memories for the older
and will surprise the little ones’.

Menárguez Rocamora and sang by the choir “Virgen del Remedio” of San
Fulgencio.

13,30 pm. Reception of the civil and religious Authorities, choir
members and festivity committee in municipality buildings, where the
wine will be served.
18,00 pm. Traditional football match Married v´s Single.
20,30 pm. Parade by the San Fulgencio Musical Union which will cover
our municipality accompanied by happy “pasodobles.”
21,00 pm. HOLY PROCESSION of our patron saint, Virgin of Monserrate,
that will be presided by our priest, municipality Authorities,
Barons of Daya Vieja- D. Carlos Dolz y Dña. Ana Cardenal-, the whole
village and visitors.
